    Helper Application Tips and Tricks
    -------------------------------------------------------
So you want to know how to make a good app huh? Well here is a fully equipped guide to help you on your journey to becoming staff. Coming from someone who has been a moderator on ******** and Helper on ********, these are my tips to writing an app.

    1. Time
Always take your time with your app. If you rush an application, it will probably have grammar and spelling issues, and is more likely to be denied. Always spend time on your app, usually 1-2 hours is okay.

    2. Spelling and Grammar
This is one of the 3 most important things in your app. Do not write in a question
"i shud be staf bcuz i has been staf on 234 srvrs"
This looks like a 5 year old wrote this. If you were to say this however
"I should be a staff member because I have held a staff position on 5 servers."
This shows you put effort into it, and is a good statement.

    3. Originality
This is the most important thing about an app, and is in the the list of 3. You need to be original with your app, otherwise your app will be the same as anyone else's.
NEVER copy an app from Beast/Another server. This is an insta deny. It also shows you cannot be trusted to write an app, and you will probably not be accepted in the future.

    4. Professionalism
If you want to be taken seriously, then you need to be professional in your app. Now, by this I mean not cursing in your app, not disrespecting other players/staff. If you are professional with your app, you will have a better chance.

    5. Don't be a kissass
This is a short one, but still important. Do not suck up to an owner, admin or mod, thinking they will then say
    "Give this guy staff!"
    This DOES NOT work.

Also, here is a couple of other guides written by myself.

    General Mistakes:

    #1:
    Failure to Read

    #2:
    Failure to Understand Clarification

    #3:
    Failure to. Follow format
    Literally.

    ________________ 2 _______________

Questions: 1-13 (14 is basically 'Free' verse.)
    Examples are Red for mistakes.

    Why would we promote you?
General answers without evidence are usually useless.

Below are collected examples from Apps.

" The reason I should be accept for helper is because i used to administrate two servers, and im trusted on one server at the moment. I will admit, I dont have any coding experience, nor do I have any redstone experience."
Every Server is different , and time does not always equal experience.

"Well to start of knowledge is no problem I've owned a server before i know the commands and such,"

Anyone can own a server, I have test servers, every server can have very different plugins, and therefore commands.
You also fail to show what commands you actually know.

" Assets: I have donated many times and i think that is a good asset and i will also be helping other people understand the donation ranks work and guide them "

Donating is not entirely an asset in the Context of the Position and doing it's tasks.
Knowing how the process works and being willing as well as able to explain however is.

The Most common question to have mistakes and errors.
    Clarification States:
" Improvements are not: Doing your position's tasks, giving ideas, suggestions, vague concepts of destroying hackers, etc. "

Examples of Answers people have done:

"A Improvement I would like to help bring is that staff are on around the clock (never staff offline) I just want to help people with problems in general I guess you can say its one of my hobbies "
Was Only Answer to begin with didn't help.
Exceedingly general and Is literally saying "Do Position's Tasks"..

" I will help players at my earliest convince, if i cant handle the situation, I will foward it to a higher staff member. "

" One improvement I can bring to Beast Factions as a whole is to help staff members, come up with the new ideas for new buildings, and a server that is being reset. In addition, as for helping in general, recording hackers (..........)"
Is basically what clarification says to Not do, and is vague as well as general in addition.

Follows after 5 in both sequence and errors.
    Clarification states:
"Directly as the question asks. Situations helpers can handle for example: Chat , Player issues, Accusations, etc."

    Some app answers:

"I would first try to help the person in the best of my ability then direct them to the forums"
Falls in the category of player issues, and was basically either solved by you or solved by them being directed to forums...
That Should cover it in theory.
That was my edited version of a basic FMM.

Note: This isn't a guide about how to apply for Helper. I'm not going to hold your hand throughout the process of figuring out where to find stuff, exactly what to post for each answer, or how to create a thread. If you can't figure those out, then... why are you applying? No, this is some tips that people don't always follow (or... really, at all), but should. Some of these are common sense, some are things that people should really be doing but don't think about it

    Have a good attidude

#2: Use proper spelling and grammar, and make your app look as professional as possible.

    Seriously, my P7 English teacher
English teacher wouldn't give most of the apps posted here a passing grade. Most of them are a complete trainwreck of misspelled words, lack of punctuation (or punctuation that makes no sense), or basically looks like a little kid babbling on and on about a movie they just got finished watching. It's obvious that no proofreading has been done here.

How to fix this? Read your app out loud to yourself. This is a great way to expose sentences that sound awkward. You want to have an app that could also be read as a speech without sounding forced. This is a good way to find any run-on sentences and word choices that don't make sense. Also, when re-reading the app to yourself, look for any spelling and grammar errors. Just for fun, try reading them as they appear on the app to hear just how wrong they sound.

Now as for the formatting, you want to make it easy for the reader to tell the difference between the question and the answer, as well as where one question ends and another begins. I'd suggest using dividers to separate each question, and color coding your questions one color, and your answers in another. Personally I use red for questions and green for answers. Also, use consistent spacing. By this, I mean don't put a lot of space between one question, and have no space between other questions. Follow a pattern (say, 3 blank lines between each question, and 1 between the questions and answers).

Remember, you're trying to make your app look like you spent a lot of effort on it. You're applying for a staff position on a large server, something that requires you to be professional and responsible.

#3: Prove yourself both ingame and on the forums.

Way too often, I see apps coming from people who have posted absolutely nothing on the forums besides their app. You want to prove that you can help the server, which means posting reports, making useful suggestions, or helping people out with their issues. If you have a recording software, open it up and start recording on the server of your choice, and anyone can immediately start taking screenshots with their F2 key and uploading to a image hosting site like imgur to post on the forums.

You also want to start helping people out ingame. If someone has a question you can easily answer, take a step up and answer it. If there's a hacker that's pissing everyone else off, record it and report. Eventually, more and more people will start noticing that you help out, and might even give you a recommendation. Some people have glowing praise on their app from both fellow players and staff members, because they've already done a lot to help out the server in the past.

#4: Be original, and try to make your app better than everyone else's.

Before even starting your app, I'd suggest looking at other apps on the page, both good and bad, to see some of the common pitfalls people fall into, as well as what the best applicants do. This doesn't mean copy/paste from the best apps, though. Instead, strive to make something even better.

When answering questions on your app, don't just put answers that have already been beaten to death by other applicants. For example, listing being active or online "all the time" as an improvement. For one thing, that's an asset, and for another, it's already been posted on pretty much every other application out there. Instead, think of something that no one else has put. It helps differentiate your app from the rest of the competition.

Also, if you see an error that everyone else is making (and trust me, they get roasted for it all the time), learn from their mistakes. Yes, I know that a few of the questions on the app are tricky to answer. However, this doesn't mean you have to follow everyone else's failures. Instead, do something completely different. You might still make mistakes, but at least you won't make the SAME mistake.

Overall, you should be spending hours, if not days, perfecting your app and paying attention to every little detail. You want to treat it like you're applying for an actual job. You want to make as good of an impression as you can with the admins, just like you would with a prospective employer./SPOILER]

Guys if staff could make this a must read, that would be great, and I was wondering whether this goes toward my staff app.

Nice thanks. I can make a new one if needed, and does this count toward my app.
I mean, I made 3 guides, and have reviewed about 15 apps
